This is the Bible Abraham Lincoln used at his inauguration in 1861.
Chief Justice Roger B. Taney administered the oath of office.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Clerk of the Supreme Court, William Thomas Carroll, who recorded the event in the back of the Bible to authenticate it.
The Bible was given to the Library of Congress in 1928 by Mrs. Robert Todd Lincoln.
