I'm gathering information this week. Leave me information regarding the type of music you have during your church services...contemporary, blended, or traditional. What do you prefer?

All hymns now. Went to a mega church that was totally contemporary for 13 years before that. I love the old hymns because they're so rich in wisdom and doctrine. Great stuff!

Nice shot, I've never seen any pics like this before. I guess I never thought of bringing a camera to church.

That's a great picture. I have done both contemporary and traditional services. I prefer the traditional for the big holidays (contemporary service at Easter was a disappointing thing), but enjoy the contemporary service occasionally.

thanks for stopping by my blog. love your picture!

my church service does blended. lots of contemporary with some traditional hymns as well. i personally prefer my church's blended style. i can get into the more contemporary music, but yet not forgetting the hymns that i grew up with.

We worship with contemporary music. Sometimes we will sing an old hymm in a more contemporary way.

I LOVE the music at our church. I love to hear and sing an old hymm, but honestly would be bored if that is all we did. I find the newer music really touches me.

I do believe that music is absolutely one of the most important aspects of a good church - at least it is for me.

Great shot and thanks for stopping by my WW! I have enjoyed reading through yours - very interesting!

Blended for me . . . I grew up in a traditional church, but have come to love the addition of contemporary services/music. It is all about the message!

Thanks so much for your honest open comments regarding worship music.

Personally, some of the newer Christian music doesn't have the right sound for worship in my opinion, but then again many of the songs do. I've posted these songs here (see the index under "Monday Music"), and they are usually songs that have been sung by our choir or congregation on Sunday.

I also love traditional hymns...especially those that have been updated with a different arrangement or leaving out the organ in favor of the addition of various instruments such as the flute, violin, drums, guitar, etc.

That being said---I am enough of a conservative that I don't particularly enjoy a worship service that has a rock concert feel or a pep rally atmosphere, but I am willing to have those types of services occaisionally if it meets the needs of my fellow congregants, just as I am willing to have a trraditional service occaisionally to meet the needs of the demographic that perfers an all hymn format.

Blended seems to be the best in my opinion because it reaches the most people. However, most congregants are really uneducated regarding what blended means. What it means to me could be different for you, and so the struggle continues.
